Global Surf Sounds is the place to discover the best surf and sounds from around the globe. From a love of surfing and desire to travel to the far corners of the earth in search for the perfect waves, an idea was born.

More than just the waves, it is about discovering a new destination and becoming emersed in the local culture. It is finding where the best bars are to catch a local gig or where to
stumble upon some new music.

It is a community of people with the same interests in Travel, Surfing and Music from all around the world.

Welcome to Global Surf Sounds.

Editor in Chief - Kate Webster

Kate Webster is a travel journalist - travel writer and photographer who travels the globe in search of vivid imagery and compelling stories that capture the essence of the places she visits. Born out of a life-long love of travel and fascination with the world around her, is Kate's inspiration behind her writing and photography.

Kate found a love of the ocean at an early age, growing up in Queensland, Australia. From swimming in the ocean and surfing, to sailing and diving … Kate spends just as much time in the water as she does out. She has dived around the world including Thailand, Fiji, Samoa, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and all around Australia.

Kate’s other passion of travel has taken her around the globe through working as a travel journalist across a number of publications, both print and online. She has sat in roles from editor to freelance and likes the freedom of an office anywhere her travels take her.

“I will always be looking to mark off the next destination, capture the next sunset and embark on the next adventure.”

So far Kate has travelled to New Zealand, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Fiji, Samoa, Bali, Cambodia, China, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Borneo, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UK, Holland, France, USA, South Africa, Botswana, Cruising the Pacific Islands and all around Australia.

When she’s not bouncing around the world on ramshackle buses, overcrowded trains, or on the back of a rickshaw, you can find her based in Sydney or the Gold Coast, Australia eagerly planning her next adventure.
