Honkys is named after the first visitors to surf here. This left wraps around the south of the island while Sultans charges around the north. This wave is regarded as one of the best waves of The Maldives, but they are all pretty good. Honkys consists of a few sections and when the swell is right you can get a 100m ride. The take-off is not too full on, and the start of the wave opens up nicely for some turns. Then as the wave runs down the reef it can gain in size creating a fine barrel section. The wave can bend toward the island and on the right day will blow minds.
