Get ready folks, the exciting line-up for 2017’s Splendour in the Grass is epic, with the action starting Friday 21 – Sunday 23 July at the North Byron Parklands.
The 17th annual Splendour in the Grass Music and Arts Festival will draw over 100 of the most exciting acts from around the world. For three days, festival goers will enjoy a diverse collection of genres from rock and indie electro to hip hop.
This year’s line-up includes the likes of The XX, Queens of Stone Age, Vance Joy, Peking Duck, Tash Sultana and many more. There will also be several hubs set up around the Parklands providing an entire experience for all attending.
The Tipi Forest will you can witness interpretive dance, playful performances, vibrant lightscapes and transient art. This colourful landscape is coupled with the regions most respected DJs and producers offering up a diverse collection of music sure to make you want to dance.
If you are more philosophical in nature, head down to the Splendour forum. From 10am daily you can debate, discuss and ponder pressing and relevant issues with some of the greatest forward thinkers.
Navigate to the Global Village where you can immerse yourself in music from around the world whilst enjoying massages, tarot card readings or even a yoga class. The World Stage invites inspiring artists such as Dustin Thomas (USA), Paul George (Tijuana Cartel), The Bombay Royale, Luka Lesson, Wild Mamalade and many more.
For a family friendly experience head over to Little Splendour, where you will find a tipi area with a huge sandpit, music garden, story-telling, jumping castle and arts and craft zone. For bigger kids there are sports, games, face painting, giant board games, music, dance, active workshops and indigenous performances.
Splendour in the Craft offers a host of Australia’s premier craft masters to teach some great craft tips and tricks. Bedazzle your festival wardrobe, create milk bottle lanterns, design charm bracelets or sew to your hearts content.
Talented international and Australian artists converge on Splendour Arts to transform the site into a contemporary outdoor art space. Get ready to enjoy performance, live art, installation, projection and much more.
With all that dancing you are sure to get pretty hungry so on head over to one of the three food halls or The Truck Stop. Additionally, several bars will be set up including the Moet Champagne Bar, Mo’Rockin Wine Bar, Carton Dry Bar, and Smirnoff Cocktail Bar.
The Very Small Suburb returns with the biggest names in food, fashion and beauty to keep you looking your best. There will be no shortage of places to shop with Splendour’s magnificent range of Market stalls.
If you feel like laughing the night away head to The Comedy Club to catch Australia’s most hilarious comedians. Don’t miss catching all the best up and coming musos performing at The Buskers Stage the entire weekend.
Camping is available on site for up to 5 nights with early entry available from Wednesday 19 July. Alternatively, you can book into Tepee Love, Flash Camp, Tent City, Byron Bay Camping Co. or family campground The Meadow.
