If the stakes weren’t already huge, World Surfaris has upped the winning prize for the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle to unbelievable heights!

Held early next year in Newcastle, the National Final winning team will be sent on the trip of a lifetime to Kingfisher Bay Resort in the Mentawai’s, worth a whopping $30,000! Garuda Indonesia will also fly the team to Padang.

Six surfers from the winning Boardriders Club will be guided throughout their stay by World Surfaris ambassador David Scard, where they will be fortunate enough to enjoy the entire resort to themselves, and be treated to some of Indonesia’s most famous surf breaks like Lances Left, HT’s, Bintangs, Macaronis and Greenbush.

Filmed content from the team’s adventures will be featured on Surfing Australia and mySURF.tv’s digital & social media networks, as well as in the Surfing Australia Weekly Wave EDM presented by nudie, and broadcasted as part of Surfing Australia TV on GO!

Kingfisher Bay Resort owner Ben Pike said he was very excited to be involved and is looking forward to hosting to winning team.

“We are extremely excited to be involved in this capacity this year and look forward to sharing a couple of waves together with the winning team,” Pike said.

About the nudie Australia Boardriders Battle Series:

The nudie Australian Boardriders Battle Series is an annual event involving more than 60 of Australia’s best boardriders clubs. Held over 8 state qualifying rounds, the top 24 clubs in the country will then compete in the National Final in Newcastle in February.

The nudie Australian Boardriders Battle has official sanctioning by the World Surf League (WSL), which allows Australian WSL Championship Tour surfers (men and women) the opportunity to represent their local boardriders club at respective state qualifying events and the National Final.

The prestigious National Final event will also include the nudie trials on Friday 17th February 2017, which will be the final qualifying opportunity for clubs in the Newcastle region for a Wildcard position for the National Final.

There’s $160,000 cash and prizes up for grabs for clubs across the National Series including $24,000 prize money split between eight State events and $85,500 prize money across the Newcastle National Final with the winning boardriders taking home a huge $20,000 and an overseas trip for 6 surfers from the winning club thanks to World Surfaris valued at $30,000. To top things off, there’s an additional $20,000 in prizes across the series.

The purpose of the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle program is to build the profile and capacity of community boardriders clubs Australia-wide. Over the next three years, more than $450,000 will be invested into grassroots clubs through the partnership.
